Plaid disclosure
When you connect your financial accounts to MoneyBook, we use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to link your accounts securely. This disclosure describes how Plaid is used and how your data is shared and protected when you use this feature.
1. What Plaid does
Plaid is a technology platform that allows you to connect your financial accounts (e.g., bank accounts, credit cards) to applications like MoneyBook. When you choose to connect an account, you are directed to Plaid's interface to authenticate with your financial institution. Plaid then provides us with account and transaction data (e.g., account names, types, balances, transaction history) so we can display and organize your financial information within MoneyBook.
2. Your consent
By using the "Connect account" or similar feature and completing the Plaid flow, you authorize:
- Plaid to access your financial accounts and data as described in Plaid's terms and privacy policy.
- MoneyBook to receive from Plaid and use your account and transaction data to provide and improve the Service (e.g., to show transactions, run categorization, and support reporting), in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You can disconnect an account at any time through MoneyBook or through Plaid's consumer portal. Disconnecting will stop new data from being shared; we will handle already-received data as described in our Privacy Policy and Data deletion page.
3. How we use Plaid data
We use the data we receive through Plaid only to:
- Provide the MoneyBook Service (e.g., display accounts and transactions, support categorization and reporting)
- Improve our product and user experience (e.g., in aggregated or anonymized form)
- Comply with law and protect against fraud or abuse
We do not sell your Plaid-derived data to third parties. We do not share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy (e.g., with service providers who assist us in operating the Service, under strict confidentiality obligations).
4. Plaid's policies
Plaid has its own terms and privacy policies that apply to your use of their services. We encourage you to review them:
- Plaid's Legal and Privacy pages (End User Privacy Policy and related notices)
- Plaid's consumer portal to manage connections: my.plaid.com
5. Security
Plaid uses industry-standard security measures to protect your credentials and data. We also protect the data we receive from Plaid in accordance with our Security practices. We do not store your financial institution login credentials; authentication with your institution is handled by Plaid and your institution.
6. Questions
For questions about MoneyBook's use of your data, see our Privacy Policy and Support. For questions about Plaid, contact Plaid through the links above or at legalnotices@plaid.com.
This disclosure is provided to meet transparency and consent requirements for use of Plaid and similar services. It is not legal advice. Have your legal counsel review it and Plaid's requirements before going to production.
